Court Upholds Lagos State Ban on Use of Hijab in Schools.

The court in Lagos State has upheld  Lagos State ban on wearing hijab in schools. The Muslim Students of Nigeria, had sued the Lagos State Government through their lawyer,Chief Gani Adetola-Kazeem, but lost as the court upheld the ban.
The group had argued that the ban constituted an infringement on the constitutional right to freedom of thought, religion and education but the judge, Modupe Onyeabor held that the ban was not discriminatory.
In delivering the judgement, the judge held that " the plurality and respect for others who have subscribed to a non-faith based educational system cannot be breached".
