The court drama is almost over for Oscar Pistorius ,27, AKA the 'blade runner' who has been in the news and the Court Room fighting his freedom after he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The High Court judge, Thokozile Masipa, in Pretoria, cleared him for murder and found him guilty for manslaughter for killing his girlfriend and adjourned probably for sentencing until Oct.21 even after he gave a defense that he thought she was an intruder.
Barry Roux, Pistorius Lawyer , urged the High Court Judge, to give him a sentence of house arrest and community service as he did not 'consciously act unlawfully'. The Prosecutor, Gerrie Nel however responded that Oscar Pistorius was grossly negligent, had intent to commit an unlawful act and eventually did commit an unlawful act. The prosecutor added that the punishment the defense attorney suggested was 'shockingly disproportionate' with his actions, adding that the Steenkamp family will never cope with it.
