In the November Issue of the Vanity Fair Magazine, actress Jennifer Lawrence referred to gluten free diet as the 'new eating disorder' adding that it translates to 'basically, I don't eat carbs'.
Her statement however, didn't go down well with the Gluten Intolerance Group as you can imagine. The groups' executive director, Cynthia Kupper who also happens to be a dietician revealed in an interview on Fox411 that Jennifer's comment made her angry. She pointed out that two digestive disorders cause gluten intolerance. Celiac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis. She also pointed out that the third reason for gluten free diet is due to gluten sensitivity. She was not alone in the criticism. Some Facebook users called the actress out on the comment with some asking her to stick to acting, expressing disappointment over her statement and emphasizing that it is not an eating disorder.
